In a given year, there are more than 3,000 children in the foster-care system in the state of Rhode Island...

A large portion of the time, children are relocated from situations of abuse and neglect late at night and within a 24-hour emergency time frame. This leaves no time for children to collect their belongings and to prepare for the transition into an unfamiliar new living situation. Unfortunately, transient arrangement include shelters, foster homes, and extended family members who may not be prepared to take a child in.

The simplest act of kindness can make a huge difference in a child's experience during scary transitions. Operation Comfort Pack provides foster kids with belongings they can call their own. Essential comforts go a long way in helping children of all ages adjust to new home situations. Our goal is to show kids that they are SPECIAL and that someone is looking out for them!
